Alphabe-Thursday: The Letter H

Jenny Matlock

Hodge-Podge

Hapless, Hopeless, Hindered
is my state of mind.
Finding decent H words
Has put me in a bind.

It began with Helga the Hippo,
who was Hankering for some Hay.
But How the Heck was Humperdink
(a Humpback) going to save the day?

 I thought "Hyacinth the Heifer"
were a better choice of words,
that is until I stepped into
Her Hefty Heap of turds!

I imagined Hunky Heathcliff,
Head of a band that rocks,
Who could look mighty Handsome
in His leather socks!

Or should I mention Hermione
and Harry's Heroic ride
upon the back of the Hippogriff
that saves Sirius' Hide.

Now Hubby is Having a Hissy-fit*,
at least, that is my Hunch.
Or could it be His tummy's Howling,
Hoping for some lunch?

A lot of Hoopla and Heartache,
Has gone into this post.
I Hope my Hand at Humor
was enjoyable to most!

*Please note: purely artistic license.
There were no "hissy fits" thrown about!
And Mr. Sister is quite capable of fixing his own lunch!

I have always loved the name Hyacinth. But the phrase "Hyacinth the Heifer" is now ruining it for me.

Hubby (the Old Salt) is big on rhymes and he does a great job of reciting them.. Yours had us both in stitches and I'm sure that by the weekend he will have it added to his memory trove of verses to entertain the grandkids.

Great Job.

Your profile does not say but are you really the 5th sister. Sounds like our way of family speaking. I am the first of thirteen and the first daughter. I recently referred to one of my brothers (a priest) in a post as the 3rd son. I got an email saying they had never heard of a 3rd son rating for priest and what did it mean.

Wonderful rhyme. I was so much fun to read. My favorite books to read to my girls when they were children were written quite a bit like that.

Fun play with H words. I enjoyed the words, combinations, and rhythm. And the Hubby comments. They put up with a lot for art's sake, don't they? :) I am looking forward to visiting back and forth some more.

What a howling clever post!

Your rhyming skills are exceeded only by your sweetness!

What a wonderful laugh.

I'm thinking you might be the new Dr. Seuss!
