Renewed Resolve: A Micro-fiction Monday Post

17 months passed
since stepping
into dark confines
beyond cellar door

Vision adjusts
yielding truth:

empty barrels

stark reminder
of life once led

Micro-Fiction Monday: Breaking Wind

Harold and Maude,
deliberated at great length,
as Southern winds
blasted the atmosphere
surrounding them
only to conclude
that it is true:
he who smelled it, dealt it!

Micro-Fiction Monday: February 13, 2012

Honestly, where else would a pink wicker set go?
Next to a pair these lovely shutters, of course.
Get it?
No?
Geez…it’s the “Love Shack”.
Duh!

Oh Christmas Tree...A Saturday Centus Offering

"Oh Christmas tree,"
"it doesn’t have to be this way!"
Sausage festering upon thy branch
when we’d rather have filet!

Could be worse…
I’m just a’guessing:
that pork could be slathered
w/rancid mustard dressing

Thanks but no thanks,
giving this a pass.
Feasting on fudge instead…
Chocolate won’t cause gas!

This week's Centus includes a photo prompt, word prompt ("Oh Christmas tree"), AND a 50 word limit! Whew! Ms. Jenny certainly is a task master! And then, just for kicks, I decided to make it harder by using last week's prompt as well ("It doesn't have to be this way") due to my absence. I hope you enjoyed my little Christmas ditty that I was certainly fun to pen. Have a great weekend!

The Fetish: A Flash Friday 55 post

I know a man
who knows it all…
particularly women’s feet

A gentle arch,
well turned heels
makes him whimper ‘n weep

Stiletto pumps,
flip flop flats,
nicely polished toes

Platform shoes
w/narrow widths
sends him into throes!

Here’s to he
that silly gent
image just for him

 festive foot
petite, adorned
w/glittery, silvery trim

Saturday Census: A Study in Black

Ms. Jenny has played a trick on us...but unbeknownst to her, it's a treat for me! Micro-fiction (25 words) using a photo prompt! Right up my alley! Then I saw the photo. Ooooh, she's a tricky one, that Ms. Jenny.

I’m telling!

About what?

You peed! Mama said no peeing in the pool!

I didn’t pee IN the pool,
I peed NEXT to it!

Oh gross!

At least I didn’t toot!

Monday Morning Photo Prompt: The Road Less Traveled

The road less traveled...
often trashed
by those refusing,
to even to consider,
taking that 1st step
upon the path
of one's own
spiritual journey

Overhearing his master mention
“Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”,
Bowser, quite alarmed,
took it seriously & made it his duty

Saturday Centus-Sunday 160: July 31, 2011

Chef Marcel,
a man of literal sorts,
finally realizes his dream

Today is the day
he opens his very own
sidewalk café

Sacré bleu!
He has forgotten
the non-stick spray!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This weekend, Ms. Jenny challenged us with a photo prompt and was generous enough to give us up to a full 100 words to capture a story. Well, I kind of got use to the "flash fiction" posts of late so I combined her photo with Monkey Man's Sunday 160 meme, where you have to use 160 characters, exactly, to write your story. The above was my attempt.
All I ever do around here
is work, work, work!
Someday,
just you wait,
my prince will come
& rescue me.
Microfiction Muse #10: Plotting
Special Agent 5th
of those pitiful Carolina Panthers
Diane, of That's What I'm Here For, selected one of my photos for her weekly muse. My attempt is actually pretty factual. My beloved Panthers were such a dismal failure last year...a season I hope to forget!
Flash Friday 55: Boys Will be Boys
Hey Billy, see them girls?
Yeah Joey, the ones hogging the swings?
Them’s the ones.
Whatcha gonna do about it?
Dunno…maybe flick boogers at ‘em?
             Nah, they’d flick theirs back.
I know! We’ll make them run away like scaredy cats!
How we gonna do that?
Do what I do, Billy, and those swings are ours!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Galen would not let me get away with "63 Words on Thursday" so I had to dig really deep for the proper muse for this week's attempt. My dear friend and colleague, Tiffany C., came to the rescue when she posted this photo on Facebook. I asked very nicely and she gave me permission to use it! And yes, the boys are doing exactly what it looks like they are doing. Anyway...that's all I have. I will be working the next 3 days and then I'm leaving for NYC next week. I will be sporadic in my posting and visiting. Looking forward to catching up when I get back.
