Sensational Haiku Wednesday: Anticipation

Ah…expectations
Give rise to disappointments
Acceptance is key

Haiku Wednesday is always a joy to participate in. This week’s theme was ANTICIPATION. I equate anticipation with expectations. When I EXPECT something, I am bound to get hurt, or upset that things don’t quite go the way I had envisioned. In my spiritual quest I have found to live in the reality of the here and now. To accept people and situations for whom and they are, not what I want them to be. It truly is freeing.

If you would like to view some silly expectations vs. reality images, please click here.

Flash Friday 55: August 19, 2011

my “studio/office” space
is where I’m spending day….
becoming most favored place
where phrases, fabric play

Shall I write of words with lady
about a wedding ring
missing after someone shady,
came to help her clean

Designing, I shall do instead
brainstorming ways to start
transforming ideas within my head
into passable works of art

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Friday came upon me too fast! This is my attempt to please the G-Man, our most gracious host. Now I really must go seize this day since I've spent way too much time on the computer already.
Monday Morning Photo Prompt: The Road Less Traveled
The road less traveled...
often trashed
by those refusing,
to even to consider,
taking that 1st step
upon the path
of one's own
spiritual journey
I thought I'd give Bubba's Monday Morning Photo Prompt a try. If you care to join, or read other entries, please feel free to click on the following blog link: Bifocal Univision
Dreaming?
(Love Song by Giorgio de Chirico)
Dream within dreamer within dream
Fantasy? Reality? 'Tis not what it seems
Deep beneath surface, peeling back layers
Mind playing tricks, Devil may (or not) care
My little offering for Sunday 160 (a story in exactly 160 characters-spaces included) and for Poetics at dVerse~Poet's Pub. Sunday 160: Coming to Light
When the time drew near
a heavenly white light,
so bright,
approached
Unfortunately,
it was unable to
retrieve the child’s soul
for he had built his wall too high
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The above is based on a recent dream

Monkey Man is host to Sunday 160: where one must write a story or poem in EXACTLY 160 characters (spaces included). Please visit his site to read other entries and complete rules.

Flash Friday 55: July 15, 2011

Growing Pains

is today the day
I run away
filled with fear,
with worrisome strife?

or do I face
that deep, dark place
detracting from a
tranquil life?

standing ground
seems so sound
though there’s always
a price to be paid

That price is plain
for it’s emotional pain
upon which
spiritual groundwork is laid

Sunday 160: Dawn's Interlude

(photo courtesy of www.inmagine.com)

morning dove croons
as busy squirrel chants
a lonely dog lending voice

a runner’s stride
and rhythmic breaths
providing accompaniment

a percussion
to morning’s melody

Centus-The End

no choice but
giving
into silent past
forgiving
bringing
the end of my
grieving
learning to fly
on silver wings
you had lent
to me

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jenny Matlock
Normally, the Centus is a 100 word essay or story based on a word prompt. Well my dear friend, Ms. Jenny,  decided to throw us a curve ball: a 2 word prompt and limiting us to a measly 25 words. This is what I came up with on my break at work. The prompt, as always, is in green
