Friday "Ketchup" and a Cheesy Giveaway!

Happy Hanukkah

Hey Lee! Hey Erin! And a shout out to my other Jewish friends and followers. This Hanukkah haiku is for you:

Happy Hanukkah!
Festival of Lights begin!
Recall miracle?

Maccabees revolt!
Temple of Jerusalem
Rededicated!

One day's worth of oil
to light the eternal flame
Had burned for 8 days!

May this holy time
Be a time a reflection
of God's great blessings!

Mug Exchange

This is what I came home with.

"Rise and Shine"! Perfect since I am up most mornings around 4:30 or 5:00. I hear the roosters crow as I take dear Daisy for a walk. I look forward to praying for the lovely woman who gave this mug! God bless you Diane!

Cheesy Giveaway!

As some of you may know, Mr. Sister won a AAA prize package at the Carolina Panther game this past Sunday. Besides being given a 1 in 10 chance to win a cruise, AAA sent him a box of goodies that arrived via FedEx yesterday. One of the items within was this nylon satchel depicting that ever annoying talented teen boy band, The Jonas Brothers.

I'm thinking this would be a perfect stocking stuffer for that pre-adolescent Jonas fan in your household. To enter, just type in "Jonas giveaway entry" in your commentary. I will randomly select a winner this Sunday evening (Dec. 13 at 6pm) so that I can ship it out to you by Monday. I will notify the winner by email (make sure you have a functioning email in your profile!)

Hanukkah is one of the best holidays ever! Our family is not Jewish, but we celebrated Hanukkah each year when our children were young. It is truly a miraculous story and it boosts my faith each time I read it. Great Haiku! Are you going to publish a Haiku book to sell? Just a thought...

Love the menorah and the Hanukkah haiku. My daughter bought a menorah for our home last year, and we enjoyed lighting it and reflecting on the elements of faith we share with our Jewish friends.

I think you did great, that mug is not too shabby at all!
I love your Hanukkah haikus. I love all holidays, and especially-all holiday food! I am very tolerant like that.

LOVE LOVE LOVE your Hannukah Haiku!!!!!

You know a couple of years ago, I asked a Jewish friend of mine if he had a children's book I could read to my children to teach them what Hannukah was all about. and with that, I, too, learned!

Have a great weekend!

While I would love to enter your giveaway, my eldest child errs on the side of Mr. Sister. THAT particular boy band does not hold the key to her heart...only to her self-claimed bleeding eardrums.

The haikus were marvelous, as always!

I love what Cynthia of Runnig with Letters wrote. I would have never thought of that idea myself but I love the idea of bringing a little bit of hanukkah in our house. This is a nice post.

Sick pup, sick boy, too many holiday to dos make blogging difficult. Just stopped by so you wouldn't look for me in the Obits. Have a great day, and love the Haiku as usual. Holly

Okay, I'll go for the "Jonas Give-a-way" because I have a seven year old, which is really the group of girls most interested in them.
