I am working the next 3 days so my commentary will be sparse (no access to blogs at work). I am going to leave you with one of my favorite Christmas ornaments. I have about 10 of these teeny tiny Santas. They come from my childhood and have been an integral part of every Christmas tree of my 48 years on this earth. I don't know why I love them. Maybe it's because it reminds me of a time, so very long ago, before innocence was lost and cynicism set in.
Be on the look out for other favorite ornaments and decorations that will be showcased throughout the month.

Aw~ I love old ornaments and decorations! Would you believe my box of childhood ornaments got stolen when I was 23?! That sucked. I still have one left over, though. But there was this little glittery church I still miss. Oh well! Have a good day! :)
Now when I tell you "you are cynical!", I can point to this blog post to show that you admit it! -Evil Laugh Placed Here-!
I love ornaments/decorations that tell a story. It comes deep from within, and is always sentimental. Have a great weekend!! See you 'round the bend.
Your Santa ornament is darling! I have some treasured Christmas ornaments from my childhood, too. I look forward to unwrapping them and hanging them on the tree every year.
I'm glad to hear all is well with you. I hope your weekend at work isn't too busy!!
Who said you were allowed to be busy??
What a cute ornament! I love the few ornaments I have from childhood!! Those are extra special!
We are only beginning to accrue "family" ornaments. Like the ones my son made in Pre-K and now kindergarten. Now I know how my mom felt when I demanded that my huge, gluey, lopsided ornament be put right in the front. I put them right on the front, and say they are the most beautiful things on the tree!
awhhhhhhhhhhhh it is so cute and u are great, too love u a lot
take care
I love to see ornaments with history behind them and special meaning.
I wish I had some of those. All of mine stayed in Slovakia when I moved and now with grandma gone who knows where they ended up.
I should start getting some special ones for my boys every year.
Love your Santa ornament, Polly! My favorite ornaments are the macaroni and yarn confections made by my kids.
I took a break from blogging, too -- mine was a bit longer than yours; it feels good to post again!

I love memory ornaments!!!
My mom made 4 ornaments when I was 1 year old. Each one was a different colored ball with a clear plastic cover that you put a picture inside of. I think it was some sort of kit or something that was sold back in the day. The pictures in them haven't changed in 29 years. They are embarassing, gaudy, and beautiful! My mom has never had a tree that those ornaments did not take center stage on!!!
Oh how I love old ornaments,Polly.
I wish I had yours!
love and hugs
I will have to copy this idea and post a pic of one of my favorite old ornaments.
:) So cute! Have a great weekend!
Cute! My favorite ornament is a little green elf in a stocking that my Grandparents passed down to me :)
I just love ornaments that have a memory!!
You have to work, too? Life isn't fair! See you when you return to Blogville.
Darn if real life keeps getting in the way of blogging - same happening over here too!
I think your ornament is sweet. Every once in awhile I want to do a theme tree or think we have too many ornaments, but almost every ornament symbolizes something and when I do break them out I remmeber some very good times.
p.s. I have the best followers, too---you are one of them! something 4 u over at my place today!
