I mixed up the dough last night and it is now thoroughly chilled. I plan to bake them this morning. Wish me luck! I'll be sure to post an update. Oh, and the recipe for these delectable delights can be found here.
Our mug exchange is always interesting. We do it "round robin" style. Everyone draws numbers. The 1st person picks out a mug. The 2nd person can take hers or pick one out for herself. And so on. It can be awfully infuriating a lot of fun. The key is to not fall in love with your initial selection because most likely someone is going to swipe it from you when it it their turn. The only time I came home with the mug that I absolutely adored was when I selected this baby:
Isn't this a fun mug! I love it! Now once you take your mug home, whenever you use it you are to say a prayer for the person who gave it. I've said many prayers for the giver of this boot!
Of course, I want to be the giver of a popular mug. . . I need all the prayers I can get! This is the mug that I selected to purchase after searching high and low:
I found it at 10,000 Villages, a fair trade retailer that works with artisans from around the world. It's from Nepal. I'm loving the bamboo detail. Hopefully someone will covet this mug and use it often.
Anyhow, I will be back later to post photos of my cookies. I hope they turn out as well as Bethany's.

I have been trying to motivate myself to do some Christmas baking this year and those exact cookies are on my list. I think this post is the push I needed to get started. I think your mug should fetch a lot of prayers for you. Good selection.
I like your mug choices--both the one you received and the one you're giving! I collect mugs--usually from my travels.
Those cookies look good. I have a cookie and ornament exchange next week. I may have to give these a try. I like it that you can make the dough the day before. Good time saver!
I LOVE both mugs, and even more so, I love the idea. I might suggest it to my small group for our Christmas exchange!
I didn't even READ your post because I saw those cookies, started to drool and had to leave you a comment and say GIMME
Yum.
I love your boot mug. I would be all a-swaggerin' and shootin' from the hip if I drank my coffee out of that mug.
Kudos for the fair trade mug! I think it is lovely.
I don't know if I will make it through the holidays with all of the cookie pictures that everyone's posting!!! I'm making my famous brownies tonight because I caved to peer pressure.
Come on New Year. Mommy needs to work on her waistline!!!
I love both mugs! And Bethany's cookies......I can't look at them without wanting to eat one (or more)!
I love your mugs. I drink coffee just so i can use cool mugs.

The cookies look awesome. I made bacon chocolate chip ones yesterday...debating about taking them to the cookie exchange.
