Flash Friday 55: This Tiny Twig

this tiny twig,
a sliver,
if you will,
suddenly,
or so it seemed,
sprouts,
erupting
from middle
of my palm
into budding branch…
appalled, yet curious,
I slowly pull,
diligently,
carefully,
for roots run deeply
surely leaving scars…
upon closer inspection,
sprigs, offshoots,
are forming elsewhere
upon this hand…
I’m persistently pruning…
tender flesh beware

Another poem from a dream. I see some symbolism here so it makes a bit of sense to me. Even if it makes no sense to you, I do hope you enjoy my effort. For more "flashes" of inspiration, please visit Mr. Know It All at the link below:

Quite a vivid dream! To hold nature in your hand and understand its transformative wonder, as with dreams too. Great 55!

Quite an unusual image. I think you did well with it, especially with only 55 words. And it makes perfect sense, to me anyway. ;_)

I love the word picture so many ways you can see this - I was more struck by the hope of spring being held in your hand

nice 55 my dear

I get it. I did a couple of drawings where trees grew from my wrists.

Anything growing from hands has to symbolise creativity, no?

It makes a lot of sense to me. For one thing, I've experienced the real-life moments like this in the garden.
