Flash Friday 55: School Lunch

Mama fried bologna
served it hot from the pan
between mustard glazed
slices of Wonder

We sipped Tang
from recycled Jelly Jars
w/Flinstone characters
in leaded paint

Watching  Little Rascals
on the Black and White
laughing, loving
Alfalfa and Buckwheat

This was lunch
in grammar school days
before school cafeterias
and No Child Left Behind

You were not 'left behind', you Little Rascal! And just HOW are you still living--after eating that 'junk' food? Hmmmmmmm?

Loved your "55".....

This reminds me of a YouTube video I saw yesterday. It was of two young boys playing baseball; one was covering 1st base, the other was the batter/runner. You couldn't hear what they were saying, but obviously the 1st baseman said something to the runner. The runner then kicked the other kid in the butt. They slapped a few hands at a each other, then stepped apart to see if they were going to get in trouble. The game progressed as usual. They looked to be about 7-9 years old. Even better, the user that uploaded the video left a note saying "See the timestamp: 1990. And no cops were called, no one got in trouble."

It seems 20 years ago was a simpler time.

A very familiar 55. I bought some Tang not too long ago. It was hard to find but still quite yummy. I felt like an astronaut.

Lunches from home seemed to work just fine. Grilled cheese was big at my house and comfort food to this day. Love this!!

PS - Mrs. MM bought a 55 gallon jug of Tang at Costco last week. Love that flavored water.
