An enigma she endearingly was
Edgy, exciting, embittered as well
Sparking love's embers aflame
Where emptiness once dwelled.
He empowers and enables her
Exulting in love ‘neath the stars
She ever endangers him by
Exhuming emotional scars.
He spends eternity
Looking towards the eastern lights
Where love first found him
On a cold autumnal night

This post will have to suffice for 2 of my favorite memes: Ms. Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday and G-Man's Flash Friday 55. And if I knew the prompt ahead of time I may have even pulled off a Saturday Centus (in 55 words, of course)!
I am working the next several days so my time is quite limited as far as visiting other blogs participating. I do hope you understand and know that I truly appreciate each and every single comment. I will try my best to respond back to you via email if time permits.

It's so wistful, kissed, perhaps, with regret. Nice combo pack.
Finding love in Autumn would be lovely and orange-hued!!!
Joy always,
Susan

love your profile description, I was once a devout catholic, and I wannabe a runner, and artist, cook, and of course the perfect mom and wife! LOL
Nice work! I'm impressed that you were able to combine Alphabe-Thursday and Flash Friday 55.
Have a great weekend, don't work too hard!
so cold autumn night can be good for something...nice flow to your piece..great 55
Pulled off a combo and a heavy work schedule, too? Such energy and enthusiasm :)
She sounds like a real piece of work.
I'm reminded of a line I read in "Winter Dreams" by F. Scott Fitzgerald:
“Her deficiencies were knit up with a passionate energy that transcended and justified them.”
An intriguing 55.
Enigmatic is a wonderful word, so full of possibility and mystery. And those words are a perfect description for your 55 as well. Good one.
Your darling post reminds me of a quote:
There is vitality, a life force, energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action. And because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and be lost. The world will not have it.
It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable, nor how it compares to other expressions. It is your business to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that activate you.
Keep the channel open.

Quite the romantic, you are. Another great 55.
Reminded me of a line from the great poet...F. Buck Cherry
"Hey, your a Crazy Bitch"....
Loved your Puzzleing 55 Polly
You Rock Baby...
Thanks for playing so Mysteriously, and have a Kick Ass Week-End...G
(Just kidding of course..This was awesome)
How clever of you to do both the meme's on this. And it was so romantic my friend. Loved it. You write so well :) Have a great weekend :)
I love this one.
=)
Loved this! Romantic, wistful, but hopeful too! Nicely done for both memes!
That is a lovely lyric!
She sounds a little scary? Some one to run from, yet strangely inescapable, a femme fatale.
Hope you are well. Yes, blogging can take up a lot of time. Never any worries if you are an infrequent visit returner. It took me a whole week to get over here!
Hi Polly, Nice job on the 55. Here's hoping work is easy on you.
Cheers, jj
very emotional and beautifully written.
And yes an advance notice of the centus prompt would be good.

Girl! We need a vacation! Too much work and not enough time to blog!
This was a wonderful poem which is, of course, no surprise whatsoever!
I liked this line particularly, 'She ever endangers him by Exhuming emotional scars'.
I've been guilty of that particular kind of journey myself.
Thanks for sharing your talent with us. Hope you're getting a little time to exhale.
A+
short but sweet, nicely written!
Susan
