D is for Derrière

Her derrière is in the air…
Which some might find quite odd.
Upon her bended knees in prayer
Is how she worships God.

His derrière is in the air
When hunting down his prey
Stalking with stealth, finesse, and care
The choicest snack of day.

Her derrière is in the air…
It’s how she worships me.
When I awake and come downstairs
For morning cup of coffee.

His derrière is in the air…
His way of studying,
Page by page with meticulous care,
His Nintendo magazine.

These derrières are everywhere
In every place I seek.
I bet you’ll find them in the air
If you “butt” take a peek.

I would like to thank Ms. Rachel, RN, my ICU pal at work, for coining the phrase "derrières in the air".

Very clever! Really, derrieres (or as we call them, bagels) are important for so many things, but we rarely give them the praise they deserve. (Did I just say that?)

Well, you are just brilliant! And that is all I have to say on the subject.

I do have a new picture of my granddaughter looking in a mirror. You might want to check it out. It is on the left side of my blog.

Oh the D word. A subject I like to avoid. I did enjoy your post. Mainly because it was about other people's derrieres.

Dear Polly,

What a clever post! What an unusual D-word! It has been years since I have used the word derrière!

What fun!!

Then I think you may like to visit my cat Sara's post for ABC-Wednesday! (A kindred soul, perhaps?)

Best wishes,
Anna
