Flash Friday 55: Memories

The neatly wrapped packages,
where her memories are stored,
are begging to be noticed, to be heard.

They were boxed up; locked away so very long ago.

It is time and she's afraid.
She does not recall where she buried the keys.

But the memories...impatient, persistent, insistent...
tear their way through carefully tied bows.

I am participating in this meme hosted by G-Man over at Mr. Know It All. Have a peek and check out all of the other entries. There are some terrific writers out there. You won't be disappointed.

The poem makes me have that feeling I get when I'm so anxious to tell someone something that I can't even hear what they are saying!

What a wonderful to describe memories.
I know exactly how that feels,
the expectations
and having to finally face it.
Deal with it.

Have you a great weekend.

Count yourself among the terrific writers!

Those boxes full of memories... can't keep 'em in storage forever. Well said.

Are they good memories or bad? Do they wish released to harm her or so she can heal? Of course even she cannot answer these questions, which is why she tries to keep the memories tightly bound .....

As you can see, your 55 touched a cord with e. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely. Memories are powerful reminders of where one has been, something can be difficult to expose to the light of today.

Polly, I will be right here as you go through this. Supporting you, crying with you, helping you find the keys. It is a very scary for sure, but once the gate is lifted, things will start to look better.

I wrote a post last week that wasn't up for long b/c I deleted it. It was kinda raw and alluded to similar subjects. There was a line that talked about the heaviness of a hundred years. I can relate to the drudging up of memories, the past, things that have haunted us....

I hope you are saving all these and compiling them for a book!
