Rainbow Summer School: Pot Luck

Jenny Matlock

I have been attending Rainbow Summer School since the completion of Ms. Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday class last month. The color subject for this week is YELLOW (The "Y" in Roy G Biv). Since I am feeling quite joyous and silly this week, I decided to draft a daffy little ditty about "yellow" food. I hope you enjoy!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pot Luck
Roast pork loin that is honey glazed
Golden chicken from fire’s blaze
Deli turkey, mounds of onions
Swiss cheese slices and sandwich buns
Curried vegetables stewed with rice
Banana cream pie, just one slice
Yellow squash, breaded and deep fried
Served with marinara on the side
Corn on the cob with a pinch of salt
Pasta salad gone bad (mayo’s fault!)
Now what goes great with barbecue?
Hush puppies made from corn meal do!
Ice cold beer and Southern sweet tea
Lemonade, sodas… Chablis for me
Chips with salsa and assorted dips
Will all these calories go to my hips?
Every time you tickle our mind and not it is the taste buds and the appetite. You have a way, don't you.
Joy always,
Susan
Hysterical and mouthwatering at the same time. I would skip a step and just apply it all directly to the outside of my body. :)
Delicious poem, all except for the turned salad.
Love it!
The calories only go to your hips if you feel guilty about them or think about them too long.
Am sure all those chips
won't end up on your hips!
Now my stomach is growling. Not a good thing since I'm on my way to the supermarket. If I buy too much, I'll have you to thank!!
Your poetry sounds delicious! Eat first, and then talk about calories later for me..
OK, it's your fault.
I was going to sit here and read A-T's for 30 minutes before breakfast but now I am going to eat first!
Wow, this was clever AND scrumptious sounding!
A really fun and delicious stop on our little journey through Alphabe-Thursday's Rainbow Summer School!
Thank you for linking! My non-loss at WW's this week will be YOUR FAULT!
