Rainbow Summer School: Orange

The color of the week is Orange...a very happy color, in my opinion. I used today's "color" to write a short poem about my very recent "blogcation" where I rested and recreated on the Carolina coast. For this week's assignment I decided to be contrary and use colors that are related to orange, rather than the word orange itself.

Apricot skies and deep green seas,
gentle kisses from ocean's breeze.

Ochre flesh from sun's scorching rays,
peach sandy beaches, salty spray.

Amber sunsets beyond the sound,
Carolina coast...where I'm found.

Oh man, how I love the Carolinas! I love your contrariness and photos!

Mine's up with a deranged orange worded story just for you. I'm truly embarrassed by this bit of weirdness.

Oh, that's very good. Your poem flows well! You were wise to use words that mean 'orange' rather than the word 'orange' itself. You got it to rhyme really well and even used some alliteration. It sounds like music.

Sunny photos too. Ah, you are so talented! I hope you can get together a collection of poems and have them published. You are worth that, Polly!

Best wishes,
Anna

The pictures are beautiful, and apricot will always be prettier than orange :)

Not only are the pictures beautiful the words are very expressive to go along with the beauty.

Depending on which Carolina, you may not have been too far from me!

I love orange--had a pedi and and mani this past week and all 20 digits (wait--are toes digits??) are vivid pumpkin (to follow the color synonym motif :))

peach, amber, and apricot seem so fragrant and juicy, way better than plain old orange.

I liked that. Orange can be over-stimulating, but this post was peaceful, restful.

Recreated?

Are you pregnant?

Wait.

Oh...that word is procreated.

Sorry.

Anyway.

What a great orange post that totally avoid the name "orange". I am impressed with your personal thesaurus. Now wonder you had brain strain! You are just too smart for your own good!

Thanks for linking Polly.

This was great!
