Alphabe-Thursday: The Letter V

Jenny Matlock

Wearing Vestments the Vicar raises the Vessel for all to Venerate.

Vast my hopes; Vigorous my prayers...longing for Virtue.

Veritas.

But I Vacillate, bearing Vestiges of sin (Venial they may be)
staining my soul.

Veritas.

Vital is this Visible sacrament...participating of my own Volition.

Veritas.

Vanquish the Vipor's Venom Vexing my spirit.

Veritas.

A Visceral Victory to be won.

Veritas.

Vindication in the Vestibule.

You were able to use so many v's in the very wonderful poem.

I love the way you used the v words. And Veritas gets very little press now a days.

I'm with Nessa--we need more veritas! What a meaningful piece you wove, with just the humble "v" with which to work!

v words are fun to say...

nice job!

My students have a hard time pronouncing the abbreviation "vs," as in Marbury vs. Madison. They want to say "verse" instead of "versus." Drives me crazy, veritably!

Isn't it nice to know all is forgiven in His blood? A genius way of showing it, my friend. Genius.

pfft, venial?! You need to aim higher. I like to get my stuff real dirty before I put it in the washing machine!
Just being silly. I think it's grand. Veritas. Truth is Beauty.

I don't know how you do it! Beautiful poem! I am lucky if I get most words spelled right!

I am a child of my time, with popular culture on the brain. When I hear the word 'veritas', I think of Professor Severus Snape (from the Harry Potter novels and films), and his tiny vile of 'veritas-serum' that makes anyone tell the truth.

I did not try to post a poem this time. But who knows, maybe I'll do it when Jenny has the colours of the rainbow after the letter Z.

I agree with Chryl: Your poetry inspires!

Take care!
