"I'm certain I've become a nuisance" is her fear
For she grew used to the Love found here.
"I shall step back, though difficult it may be"
This was the silent promise she made to He.
Although plans often go awry (her experience has taught),
"This should be easy, keeping distant," or so she thought.
How often do we feel unworthy of love?
When things get tough, how often do we turn away, shutting down?
This is true in love, in life,
and in our individual spiritual journeys as well.
When I am filled with the Spirit I sometimes sabotage myself
with thoughts of how could Christ love me, a sinner?
When I am in my spiritual desert I find that
I have a tendency to feel abandoned by God.
So I run, I hide, praying for mercy.
But you know something?
The Lord is always there, ever vigilant.
His love is always there as well, if you choose to accept it.
And for that, I am eternally grateful.

yeah i know that feeling well...how could someone love me...its a vicious lie. each one beautifu and loved...created unique and pleasing to Him....
A familiar feeling, for sure. One semester our Sunday School studied a topic called, "The Grace Walk". I don't remember the author's name, but it was fantastic. All about how God sees us, which is so different than how we think He must see us with all our sin. Very freeing, allowing me to NOT hit that low, empty place without Him, but being able to be sure of HIs continued presence with me, regardless of my feelings. Great post.

I truly needed this reminder, thank you so much for listing to your heart and sharing;)
May God's Grace always protect you and yours, Polly.
And I know that feeling well.
Happy Sunday!

Polly, maybe the real question is "how could someone NOT love you?"
Thanks for the reminder. Unconditional love is hard to grasp, harder to accept, and impossible to imitate without God's grace :)
It is comforting to know that even when we block it, God is always loving us.
