Dreaming?

(Love Song by Giorgio de Chirico)

Dream within dreamer within dream
Fantasy? Reality? 'Tis not what it seems
Deep beneath surface, peeling back layers
Mind playing tricks, Devil may (or not) care

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My little offering for Sunday 160 (a story in exactly 160 characters-spaces included) and for Poetics at dVerse~Poet's Pub. Today's subject is to write a piece based upon one of the selected works of Giorgio de Chirico. This is my 1st stop at the Pub. I'm hoping the big guys will let me play today.
Love this interpretation of the photo. I wouldn't be so kind. Thanks for playing along with the Sunday 160, Polly.
oh you can play anytime you want...smiles...that you pull it off in 160 is a feat of its own...dreams somewhere between fantasy and reality...if you read the artist background he really believed there were things we could not see and that histry kept repeating itself...you done well polly
I'm never quite sure myself.
Deep & meaningful poem.
..Dream within dreamer within dream... love how you capture the surrealism of this time and the core belief of the painter with this...
Yes, the poem has the same sense of convoluted symbols leading down dark alleys as the painting. Good work getting that across in so few characters.
Polly, what intriquing imagery. You are a master of the written word, my dear!
Surreal, just like the photo.
It's a succinct statement about the ambivalence of the painting - both matter of fact and enigmatic.
Awesome combination.
seems an easy fit.
Formerly Known as Tom Eliot:
You really deliver a duel elaboration from painting to poetry.
In some quick but effective lines you create atmosphere and expansion.
Very effective sister.
