Alphabe-Thursday: U is for a New Understanding

Bolts of Fabric @ Fashion District, NYC, November 2010

unlocking the door
to the upper room
she enters unto
an unimaginable sight…

she uncovers
an unending stockpile...

bolt upon bolt
of unique upholsteries,
spool after spool
of unusual threads…

understanding
what she must do,
her passion’s unleashed…

she unfolds,
unravels,
and weaves
these treasures
into an
unmistakable
mosaic
unveiling the truths
that is her life...

uncertainty vanquished,
she's finds home

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The above poem is based on a dream I had when I was at the very beginning of my personal journey towards healing and wholeness. It is my hope that the metaphors make sense. As always, it is such a pleasure to participate in Ms. Jenny's weekly meme.
Sometimes it takes unraveling to understand. Well done.
You know that I adore your poetry, Polly, but I have to tell you that going to a fabric store always completely overwhelms me. I'm glad, though, that it worked for you in your dream.
I love that it was based on a dream - and I love the image you chose to illustrate it.
I get it. I think I really get it :)
Poems aren't always gotten or meant to be gotten, but sometimes I just FEEL them and they resonate. This is one of them.
Ah, and the mosaic she weaves is certainly colourful! I wonder if any of us can really vanquish uncertainty though. Just a thought. :)
I get this on so many levels. Nicely woven.
Polly, what a lovely and intuitive dream. Love this photo interpretation of it. I can rarely do that.
I do have one photo I purchased for my blog "Dark side of the Stars' (the one I've never actually started yet) that expressed my feelings exactly.
You know, though, that the room you pictured would be heaven to some of us who lust after fabric, right?
Thanks for a wonderful link to Alphabe-Thursday's letter 'U'.
This was unbelievably intriquing.
A+
