Alphabe-Thursday: The Letter T

Jenny Matlock

Tempest approaches at furious pace.
Turbulent winds lead The Timorous race,
bringing Terrifying Truths I must now face.
For This Trial is mine, alone, To embrace.

With Temerity I never knew I had gained,
I Tread The Terrain Transformed by storm's reign.
Trampling upon The Terror sorely disdained
Only To learn That These efforts were in vain.

Memories, un-Tethered, now Tattered and Torn,
Trembling I remove Their Tortuous Thorn,
Whose Toxins slain The child I now mourn.
The pain is The Tonic for The wounds I have born.

I'm new here, so I don't know much about you. But that was awesome. I wonder if it's true? Did you lose a child? Or is it just literary?
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I'll be back here. New follower!

This was exceptionally well done. It has so much feeling. I think it brings the reader to feelings they might have inside. Great T post.

Darn! Polly, you've done it again.

Transported me with your words into your emotions.

Powerful, poignant...sorrowful.

I think we all have to mourn the loss of that hurt and confused child.

What a journey you are on!

Thank you for allowing and trusting us to come along on this journey with you!

A+

Wow, what a talent you are!
Another great letter-poem.

Inspired by you, Carmen and Brenda (Rinkly Rime), I thought I would try to write poetry too; or rather translate a poem I like.

Maybe I should have had you by my side when I translated this poem for my T-word this week. I got the basic content right, but could not get it to rhyme, which is a pity, because the original poem works so well with its rhyme.

Next time I'll try to write my own poem and see if I can get it to rhyme! But I have nothing to say compared to Harry Martinson.

I really like translating. But it's frustrating finding the right word. Translation is often a compromise.

Take a look at my T-post when you have the time. I have other things to look at on my T-post, such as flowers and an animal. But this time, all of the photographs are taken by me.

Best wishes,
Anna

Thought provoking. It is hard to put down the wounds of the past childhood because there is so much of our brightness left in there. So we keep reviving it.
