I Married a Geek

If you haven't guessed by Mr. Sister's guest blogging appearances, I am married to a geek. I have visual proof of this fact.

Mr. Sister's laptop.

Not "geeky" you say? I beg to differ. See how he's attached a keyboard? What about the wireless mouse with a DVD cover as a mouse pad? See how he uses my bentwood chair as a desk? Honey...they call it a LAPtop for a reason, you know.

Yeah, I thought you'd see it my way.

All in all Mr. Sister may be a geek, but he's MY GEEK! And I love him!

Speaking of love, there is an awful lot of love going around the blogosphere these days. My friend Holly over at 504 Main gave me not one but TWO blog awards! How cool is that? (If you haven't done so, please go check her blog out. She's got a style all her own and will make you feel quite at home)

Anyway, here is what she generously gave me:

The Heartfelt Blog Award followed by...

The 2009 Friendly Blogger Award.

Wow! Could life get any better? I'm unsure of the "rules" of acceptance but I think the awards speak for themselves.

I'd like to pass the Heartfelt Award on to the following blogs who always write from the heart:

Musings of a Catholic Lady
Jumping Tandem
From Misery to Happiness in 365 Days

For the Friendly Blogger Award...hmmmmm...this one is difficult. All of the blogs I follow and all of the bloggers who either follow me or comment on my postings have been the friendliest bunch I've ever run across. You are the best blogging buddies this gal could ever hope for. With that said, I pass this on to ALL OF YOU! Take it. It's yours! Don't be shy now!

Your Hubby looks like he has set up his nest to his liking. I'm glad you love him anyway! :)

Let's just say I agonized about showing his office where he has the server set up for all of the computers in the house, our Sage (DVR setup), a big old heap and tangle of cords and cables, etc. But that's his domain and it's best I don't step foot in there.

I married a geek, too! When I met him - as a single guy - he had a poster of a cut-away of The Starship Enterprise above his bed. He was 30 at the time. I married him anyway. :-) And now he's doing his dangdest to turn me into a geek, too. One of us...one of us... one of us...

I have a geek, too! Although we don't have the money for him to indulge these days, LOL.

Thank you so much for the award! I can't wait to post and link back!

have a very blessed Tuesday!

LOL! Tammy, that's funny! Mr. Sister is a big Star Trek/SciFi fan, too! He didn't have the poster but a collection of Star Trek ceramic mugs, instead. We even attended a Star Trek convention once. Klingons, Romulens and Vulcans, Oh my!

I am too technologically illiterate to be indoctrinated into official Geekdom. It frustrates hubby to no end. He keeps having to show me how to operate the myriad of remotes we have at our disposal!

Sounds like my husband! I think geeky is the new sexy though! :)

My hubby didn't even know how to turn the computer on until I showed him. Now, one of our computers (mine) is "made from scratch" by him and he's always tinkering with something. He is into Scifi, but NOT Star Trek (thank goodness). He does, however, play WOW...which makes for interesting dinner conversation, let me tell ya (insert eyeroll). There are many, many kinds of geeks...and we love them. Besides, they could have WORSE hobbies!!!

I like that! Geek is the new "sexy". How true! If it weren't for Mr. Sister dragging me (kicking and screaming) into the 21st century I might never have met you all!

Christie, you are so right...they could have worse hobbies! We are definitely blessed.

my husband is the exact opposite of yours! he has his own laptop but he can barely remember how to turn it on. he does use it, a lot, but it is my responsibility to maintain ANYTHING that goes wrong with it INCLUDING user mistakes!

oh, in answer to question from last week, actually the Starbucks VIO is much cheaper than their regular coffee. Averages out to be about $1.05 a large (venti) cup.

I married a tinkerer. You should see our garage (no, actually you shouldn't). I can't tell you how many ongoing projects we have in there. It's fine by me, though!

Congrats on your awards!

My husband is a geek too. We met on-line. So, I guess we are both kinda geeky.

His chair is about the same, out wireless keyboard controls the mac mini which is part of the entertainment area.

I would not trade him for Antonia Sabato Jr. (he is cute though). I will keep my geek! I just love him so much!

Haha, my boyfriend is a geek! Only a little bit though. He is Willoughby's son! And I love him to death!

My hubs is a super techy geek too! Don't you love those men of ours. If we weren't married, I'd still be walking into the bank for my transactions. I lack all technical skills! Oh yeah...praying for your hearing:) Thanks for visiting us today. Happy Tuesday! Holly at lifelaughlatte.blogspot.com

I feel a little left out. My husband is not a geek. He is a carpenter with an unusual sense of humour. I was just telling him that my parents went out and prearranged their funeral today. Since they are planning on getting cremated, my mother told me should would like my husband to make a nice box to put the urn with their ashes in. My husband has decided to give my parents these boxes for Christmas!! God bless us everyone.
