Does Anyone Else do This?

My son had a belated birthday sleepover this past Saturday.

I spent the entire morning and early afternoon scrubbing and cleaning only to have the house totally trashed by a gang of 10-11 year olds!

Oh, and I still haven't caught up on my sleep as the charming tykes stayed up until well after 3:00 am!!!!!

Unless the parents are going to be hanging out, I don't bother doing any extra cleaning for playdates any more. Those little monsters don't appreciate it! Hope you get some sleep today :)

We have language arts (vocabulary and grammar) and history to go. Then maybe a nice nap on this dreary, rainy Monday.

All I can say is "God bless ya for doing it!" Awakeovers are exhausting for everyone, but we all remember the fond memories of having them. I'm a mean sleepover mommy. I sit in the sleepover room with a book at 11pm and say..."ok it's over now, go to sleep, I'm not leaving until you do." They are usually out by 12am. Holly at lifelaughlatte.blogspot.com

I always do that. I imagine if it isn't clean, the kids go back home and tell their moms what a mess my house is (like they would even notice).

We had a sleepover here this weekend, too. The difference being, we had a group of teenage boys. They weren't loud or anything, but they each wanted to take a shower on Saturday morning. I was seriously afraid to look in the bathroom after the last one had finished. Not too bad, mostly a pile of wet towels.

"Awakeovers"! LOL! I'm totally stealing that one.

Willoughby, that is exactly how I feel. I know my neighbor thinks I'm the worst housekeeper because I am certain her son tells her so! LOL!

Alas, this tale is all too relateable! I consider it small victory when my house stays clean for more than an hour.

Hello! Thanks for visiting my blog. As for children's parties I usually tidy but leave the cleaning for after.

I do that to! As if kids actually look for dust bunnies! I think we develop the habit after seeing too many cleaning product commercials!? Or maybe it's residual "nesting" from pregnancy....
