Flash Friday 55: The Road

Wheels spinning
wildly out of control
digging deeper
ever deeper
into self made pit
of despair

Waving white cloth
surrendering
willingly
completely
to hidden truth
haphazardly evaded
until now

Gratefully grasping
knowing hands
reaching out
offering peace
handing out hope
pulling me back on track

Now trudging
road towards
destiny of
God’s will...
not mine

Polly that is so apropos
so easy to get ourselves caught in the mire of life. God alone can dig us out

But how can you be sure it's not simply a part of you calling you that way?

Polly...
Your 55 word contribution certainly can spur on great discourse.
Excellent job.
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End

Now trudging
road towards
destiny of
God’s will...
not mine

A very profound and thought provoking poem. Very well written. Ditto to g-man's comment that this poem stirs the imagination and makes for a wonderful discourse. Nicely done 55,

cheers,

Trudge is a good word and describes the process well. Steadily and usually laboriously. It ain't for the feint of heart.

Nice write, Polly.

Oh that's good! It's hard to let go and let God, but it's always the best choice. Of course, that doesn't stop me from sometimes wallowing in self-pity...
