ordinary were days
of ordinary life
obliging, obedient
was ordinary wife
What really happened
within orderly house
overwhelmed by demands
of obstinate spouse
tears shed, not one, not once
no tantrums, no fits…
seeking solace instead
in obscure stash of opiates

got a light...i mean, nice 55...O my...smiles.
sadly the light will go out.
I tried my first 55 :)
That's a recipe for disaster.
Can it get any worse (probably)
glad there are other options (in life)
an excellent 55
oooo.....extraordinarily sad...
Sad 55 in O. And seems like a story so easy to fall into - she felt she needed to numb what aches perhaps because she couldn't see a way to remove the pain any other way.
Pollyanna...?
Fantastic!!
This was one of your best ones yet!
Loved your 55..
Thank you for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End..
An inside-outside disconnect. And all too true for many, sadly. Great 55.
bummer of an ordinary life. may her fantasies be better in her opiated world. Better yet, may she find the strength to kick herself out of that life.
This one? This one fills my heart.
Sad but true- good one! thanks-
This one really makes you think. You never do know what happens behind closed doors, do you?
"She goes running to the shelter
of her mother's little helper"
Obscurred opiates occasionally obscure ourselves.
An "O"-kay 55!
ahhhh ... mothers little helpers ...
Your Husband must be terrible!
Polly! This is terrific! That's all I can say--terrific!
Another one very well done. I like the sing song rhythm of this. Fits with the numbness portrayed in it.
O...dear!!
SmOkin' 55. I probably wasn't supposed to laugh at your surprise ending, but that's nust me.
Very creative!
I am not! Who told you that?
Seriously, an excellent 55.
That is painfully good.
Such an excellent, ordinary poem.
Thanks for sharing!
This was extra-ordinary! :) I loved it.
My 55: BHDS
Can anyone say "Stepford"...nice job!
eloquently put 55.
Happy Weekend.
This is a great O poem. So sorry she had to turn to opiates.

Uh Ohh.. now that's a sad thing to do... but then again, when the (mental) pain gets unbearable, some people find solace in such alternatives.. (sigh)... as long as they don't Overindulge, it's Okay I guess.. :(
A very nicely written 55, my friend.. cleverly done!!
Out of the ordinary 55!
nutty nuts
Whoa! Totally didn't see that end coming! Great poem! I love your unique way of using poetry to create such incredible stories!

Polly. You are so outrageously talented! I really love your writing.
And I so often want to take your characters home and take care of them and comfort them.
Perhaps tea served on the patio while watching a beautiful sunset.
You do an amazing job of expressing angst.
Thank you for sharing your outstanding talents with us.
