Alphabe-Thursday: Nighthawks and Nightingales

Nightmare is the nighthawk,
nefarious, nesting near
gnawing at necrotic flesh
from heart immobile with fear

Nightingale, nature’s love song
whose nuanced notes shall heal
nursing neglected wounds
narcotic for memories revealed

The nemesis that is Nighthawk
is necessary, though painful he can be
nibbling away those damaged parts
is necessity to becoming free

Way made clear for Nightingale
 nurturing numb-struck soul
nimbly mending a once tattered life
a novel mosaic: uniquely, newly whole

I love this one! The yin/yang relationship between the nighthawk and nightingale is something I would never have thought of. Amazing, my talented friend!!

What a great poem! I love how you used the contrasting forces of the nighthawks and the nightingales. That sense of duality makes this poem so much fun to read. I also love the way you used so many "N" words in your poem. Good job!

I love the way you used the birds for your concrete images of such gossamer thoughts and feelings.

What a great link to Alphabe-Thursday's letter "N".

I love the tension and turmoil and the struggle between dark and light here.

You are really brilliant, Miss 5th Sister!

Nifty right for certain.

A+

Where does it come from? - wherever, I appreciate that you share.
Last night was a nighthawk sort of dream, but I like the thought of making room for the nightingale.
