Alphabe-Thursday/Flash Friday 55: The Letter S

Jenny Matlock

The Serpent Sings of Secrets Stashed,
where Sufferings had left all hopes dashed,
where Sanity was Sold for Survival's Sake,
where Sadness, Sorrow remained in its wake.

But Songbird Sings of Spirit's Strength
of Soul's Sojourn of Suitable length,
of Self's Silent Search for Salvation's cure
found in His love - Selfless, Salient and Sure.

In addition to Ms. Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday I am participating in Flash Friday 55. This weekly meme is brought to you by G-Man, over at Mr. Know it All. The object is to write a story or prose in exactly 55 words.

I plan to be back to regular blogging after the holiday weekend. Can't wait to see you all again!

Dear Polly,
I am just beginning to get to know you a little. You write really well. Almost to the point that it leaves me speechless! I am not really sure what to say.
But I'll come back if I think of something.
Your poems are something like what I wish I could write every week for this meme, but just cannot do it. My days go with so little time to think!
Your S-post is excellent. (Sorry, I cannot even think of a good s-worth to express this!)
Best wishes,
Anna

salient is a good word. I like sapient, too. You should work that in.

Polly, your weekly poetry feeds my soul. Your work is so remarkable. I think you need to publish all of these in a book when you reach the end of the alphabet. It would make a fantastic alphabet book for adults. Seriously! ~ Sarah
