Flash Friday 55: No Wonder I'm Tired!

This was my status on Facebook this week. Unbeknownst to me at the time, it was a perfect 55! So in the true spirit of my status, I am taking the day off and using the following for this Friday's Flash 55:

In one week's time I have: made 3 dresses and 5 skirts, worked three 12 hour shifts, cooked many a dinner, schooled my son, carpooled hither and yon, walked my dog, tended the garden, scrubbed the deck, slew the laundry beast, proctored tests, studied for recertifications, and blogged. Whew! I think I'll take tomorrow off!

Have a great weekend everyone!

I am participating in Flash Friday 55. This weekly meme is brought to you by G-Man, over at Mr. Know it All. The object is to write a story or prose in exactly 55 words. Come join us and link your 55 in Mr. Know it All's comment section. See you there!

I'd say you earned the break! Don't you just love when 55 words fall in your lap that way? Mine came about the same way. Sort of.

Yes by all means feel free to use the form. I posted the wrong link earlier.

Need a rest after reading that! Gone for a poem this week based on the Etheree form created about twenty years ago by an Arkansas poet named Etheree Taylor Armstrong It normally consists of ten lines of unmetered and unrhymed verse, the first line having one syllable, each succeeding line adding a syllable. I added an extra row for the word count and the punch line. See what I mean here.

my week had 3 doctor visits, 7 vaccinations , 2 allergic reactions, 4 shopping trips, 2 daycare inspections, pulled all the brush and debris from the back yard, lost 3.6 pounds on weight watchers, cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 times, filled out 2 parent packets in triplicate, hosted a workshop and did a PI presentation in Spanish.

Wow, just the laundry beast can be a lot. But you're setting a good example. I should take tomorrow off too.

Ok, maybe I'll just work a tiny bit, but only at one of my jobs.
