My Favorite...

Toilet Cleaner?

She even does windows!

Shampoo?

Whatever that delightful, but overpriced,
peppermint scented product they use at the salon.
But since I can't afford that I usually end up
buying a knock off product at Costco.

Laundry Detergent?

Tide, of course

But I'm switching to the Costco brand.
I'll let you know if it performs up to par.

Movie Quote?

"A child's voice, however honest and true,
is meaningless to those who've forgotten how to listen."
Dumbledore from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azcaban

Song Verse?

"Who am I that the voice that calmed the sea,
would call out through the rain and calm the storm in me."
from "Who Am I" by The Casting Crowns

Gospel?

The Gospel of John
Image is a crop of El Grecco's Painting
of St. John the Evangelist

Jewelry?

My wedding ring. It is quite simple, really.
It consists of my engagement ring (diamonds and sapphires)
between 2 thin bands that I had soldered together.
Mr. Sister had offered to replace the diamonds with larger ones
around our 10th anniversary but I refused.
This ring symbolizes our humble beginnings as man and wife.

This personal side of The 5th Sister was brought to you based on a suggestion by Michelle over at The Domestic Mama. Michelle, grab this button in my appreciation!

YAY! I love the personal side of life.... I too must use the "other" brands. But I never go too cheap on foil or garbage bags, lol!

Your quote struck home with me! My favorite quote is Children should be seen and heard and believed. (the same basic message!)

What a great post! We loved the Costco detergent, we don't live near a Costco now so I am using Tide now. It is definitely more expensive :)

Hi Hon! Thanks for stopping by today (and the day before), I'm in shock from yesterday!

I wish wish wish I had someone to clean my cooker and toilet! :O(

I LOVE your ring, it's beautiful and what a great idea about joining the bands together; maybe if i'd did that, my son wouldn't have put it between the cracks in the decking....

I buy Costco detergent - works for us. I splurge on some things but not on others. I also love reading about personal "favorites"!

There is nothing at all like the tingle and pepperment smell of some shampoos! I have yet to find a cheap version though :o(

LOVED both qoutes.

REALLY love your ring, I too would never think about "upgrading". If it was good enough in the begining, it is good enough now, if not even better because it has seen all the trials we have been through.

What a fun way to get to know you!

I love your wedding ring. It's so very pretty.

I try to change few of my items for less expensive brands. Recently I changed my Tide for Gain.

Ohnonono! Please don't be afraid of the letter A! I am just a horrible explainer. It can be anything. A tale of Tide!

Casting Crowns is one of my most favorite bands. I also like Jeremy Camp a lot, and anything by Chris Tomlin. Great post. Holly:)

What a great recovery from bloggers block.
Costco? I guess we don't have one here in Augusta since I don't know about it.
Big Lots and Freds. Now that's where I like to get my discount laundry/cleaning stuff.

Loved your quotes. Your ring is beautiful. I took the bigger diamond on our tenth. I have our "engagement" diamond in a pendant.

That is going to have to be a post of mine. Jewelry collection, or not since it makes me look a little an ego maniac.

I love the glimpses into your life. Send your person my way. I need my windows done.

I got mad at my mom for allowing my dad to change her original engagement ring and wedding band. But she told me the original went down the kitchen sink years prior.

I got the honeymoon I wanted for my 10th anniversary. Niagara Falls. It was wonderful, my romantic husband got us a hotel overlooking the Canadian side falls. We couldn't have been closer if we tried. (I have to admit that the honeymoon we took was Paris and Rome least anyone think I was denied a proper honeymoon.)

This post was a great idea! How fun to learn about your favorites!

Your ring is gorgeous! Sadly, I haven't worn my wedding ring in quite some time. I injured my finger and it swelled up. My husband had to cut my wedding ring off when my skin started to turn blue (I've since found you can remove a ring from a swollen finger with dental floss). I really need to get it fixed....

I LOVE Your ring just the way it is!!!
(Do people really change their rings? I can't even imagine doing that. This is the ring he game me.)

That is a cool post...We get to learn even more about you...yeah! Let me know how the costco version laundry detergent fairs...I am a TIDE lover. I have only scene the last Harry Potter movie...so not too familiar with all the quotes...but that one is great!

The Gospel of John? It makes sense that the Gospel of John would appeal to someone with your flair for words. I think the opening verses of John are probably my most favourite in the whole Bible. But since I am totally left brained (no creativity whatsoever), my favourite Gospel is Luke. The picture of Jesus in Luke is what carried me through the darkest days of my life.

I am, however, currently studying the Gospel of John so maybe I'll change my mind.

That quote is pretty profound.
