More Randomness

A Random Photo from "My Pictures"

My daughter as an emu, many years ago.
(one of my very favorite hand made costumes)

A Random Tip

You all probably already know this but when I first heard about this it was a defining "Aha" moment.

Want an easy way to fill a baggy with leftovers, marinade, sauces, or whatever?

First, place your baggy in a large cup like this.

Then fill your baggy thus (I needed to marinate some shrimp)

No mess, no fuss!
I totally stole learned this tip from Luis, of Muddy Runner fame.
Thanks Luis. BEST TIP EVER!

A Random Dinner

I've caught myself a nasty cold and was in the mood for some comfort food. I decided to put Black Beauty (my Kitchen Aid) to work and whipped up some handy dandy bread bowls. I then made a crock pot full of chunky clam chowder.  Yeah, it was pure comfort. I think I'll have some leftovers for breakfast.

A Random Brag

My daughter auditioned, Tuesday afternoon, for her school's musical, "The Leader of the Pack". She got a call back and will be doing another audition this afternoon. Break a leg,  Bethany!

A Random Home Schooling Fact

When you have a cold and feel like making some comfort food you can call school off for the day. After all, you are mom, teacher, principal and school board all rolled into one. Don't worry, we'll still get in our required 180 days.

A Final Random Note

I will be working the next 3 days. I won't be able to comment on your blogs or do much writing myself. In my absence Munchie Boy has graciously agreed to takeover my blog write a substitute post for me. I'm sure his post will be entertaining. You all have a wonderful weekend!

I am flattered a master chef like yourself would find a tip from me useful. It really is useful to be able to dump things inside a bag like that!

And go Bethany!!

I love all the randomness :) Where did you get your bread bowl recipe? I have only tried them once and they didn't stay they went kinda flat, maybe it was me :)

Feel better soon! I think I'm getting a cold, too, but I knew it was coming. The kids have been sick for a week, and they blow their noses more often on me than on the Kleenex.

Congrats to your daughter. I hope she does well. Have fun working my friend. :) I hope you feel better real soon. I'm clueless as to who Munchie Boy is LOL. Oh well. Have some good work days :) BLAH!!!

The bread bowl/soup looks so yummy; a sourdough bread bowl with creamy clam chowder is a classic around here.

I also want to wish Bethany good luck!!

And although you will be missed over the next few days, I can't wait to see what Munchie has in store :)

Hey Polly. :) Great tips...I use the ziplock/cup thing all the time for my pasta sauce. ;) Thanks for stopping by my blogs! I've missed you!

ON a side note...I just have to let you know that homeschooling ROCKS! We've decided that next year we're going to be a completely homeschooled family. :D I pulled Jack out of preschool early so we could participate in more hs'ing activities w/ other hs'ed children. I'm so much more relaxed...and it'll be most convenient w/ the new baby. ;)

Congrats and break a leg Bethany!!

The bread bowl looks delish and the soup would too - if it wasn't clam chowder (of course I have never had it either, so had I sampled your creation I may have swooned for it)

Love your randoms - hope work is busy, but not too busy!

Love the random. And that costume is totally amazing. It made me laugh when your blog opened. It's so strange because everytime I see your avatar I think it's from my sister. She is all cute and brunette like you! Sorry you have to be away from your blog for three days! You'll be missed!

That bread bowl looks scrumptious!!

Way to go, Bethany--and good luck!

I hope you feel better! And I totally agree on calling the shots in your school! :-)

Way to go, Bethany. Good luck.

Okay, Polly. Let me get this straight. You're feeing puny with a cold and you COOK!? And bread bowls, at that. I thought I was the exceptional (retired) Betty Crocker by making sour dough rolls today. How do you make bread bowls?! I didn't know that was possible outside of Atlanta Bread Company.

Love the marinating tip.

That's so nice of Munchie Boy to step in and take over family biz.

Totally jealous of your delicious dinner. I am busy with Little Peanut's hockey tournament so my kids had cereal for dinner and next home cooked meal will be Monday since as of tomorrow morning I will be at the hockey arena till Sunday night.
