Flash Friday 55/Saturday Centus #31: Entangled

Today I am combining 2 favorite memes of mine: Ms. Jenny's Saturday Centus (where you design a story of 100 words or less behind a prompt) and G-Man's Flash Friday 55 (where your story or prose must be 55 words exactly). G-Man thoroughly chastised me last week for including my "55" within the body of a 3 part poem. Trust me...you don't want to make the G-Man mad! So below, please find my combination post using the following prompt:  "bin of tangled up Christmas lights". 55 words exactly...go ahead...count 'em!

I find myself waxing philosophically as I go through the bin of tangled up Christmas lights. How so like these lights my life has been. I'm working diligently to untangle this crazy mixed up mess and am comforted to know my friends have my back! Maybe, just maybe, the light within will shine true someday.

Note: Ms. Jenny does not allow use of a photo to accompany her prompt. So please ignore my photograph above if you are here from Ms. Jenny's "Mr. Linky". If you are here from Mr. Know it All's site, then never mind! Photo is courtesy of Getty Images

Untangling is worth every single minute it takes.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one busting your chops about last week's 55. (LOL!)

But this week's was just dandy!

Even a tangled mess can plug in and light the way with a rainbow of color. Great 55.

My 55 is HERE .

That's a perfect simile for how life gets sometimes. My advice, if the lights don't go on, keep checking the bulbs. ;) Enjoyed it.

Having met the G Man face to face, I can tell you that he really isn't very scary...in fact he's extremely nice. :-)

Christmas lights? I put a Santa on the door and I'm done. Call it minimalist Yule.

Picture? don't see a picture, and if I did, I would never tell! I'm in awe, you did such a beautiful job with the prompt. I feel bad about griping over 100 words, you did it in 55! Well done. Kat

I have also been on the wrath of GMan (never do a continuing story - LOL) It has always amazed me how easily these lights tangle. I think your light shines very brightly my friend and true :) Great 55. Have a wonderful weekend :)

Great job with the prompt! A tangled mess of lights is a great metaphor for most of us, though I wouldn't want to be the flasher! Excellent!

Momma always said that life was like a box of Christmas lights... lol

And yes, that analogy is so perfect! Can absolutely relate to it! But then again, I do believe in that light time and again too :)
And I am sure it will for you as well!!

Glow on, my friend...
Lovely 55!!!

I wonder how we let our Christmas lights get so tangled up in the first place.

It all seemed easy when we took them out of the box the first time, didn't it?
