Saturday Centus: Virgo

(image from Google Images and Gemharmony.com)

Your imagination might conjure stories or pictures that you want to memorialize through writing or painting, but a lack of self-confidence might discourage you. However, it's probably a good idea to do it anyway. These ideas come from deep inside you. Giving them shape could represent a release from old traumas. Keep your work hidden in a drawer if you don't like it.

******************************

“HA!” she thought to herself, “My stories all seem to go to that deep, dark place. Why dredge up the old pain of festering wounds and long forgotten memories of horrors unimaginable?”

But where had that gotten her so far? Her fears kept her from pursuing her dreams and talents all for the sake of appeasing others. She had put her true self on the back burner so long ago. You see, that was her escape…for if she hid her true nature, maybe, just maybe, she would find the acceptance, love, and happiness that have eluded her all these years.

Jenny threw us another loop this week! We were to use our daily horoscope as our prompt to write our 100 word essay around. What a fun change up! Thanks, Jenny for always keeping it interesting. To see the fantastic stories of other bloggers, please click on the link below.

Polly, this hits a little too close to home! It certainly serves as a validation for people who suffered as children. Excellent take on the prompt.

Boy, can I relate! I don't keep my "stuff" in a drawer, though. I put it out there - get rid of it. My blog, "The Red Sweater" gets most of it.

Great writing..........cj

Such a perfect choice to prompt this story. You did a beautiful job with this. How many of us do hide our true selves fearing rejection? I think everyone does to a degree. This was brilliantly written. Kat

Polly, I didn't realize you were a VIrgo, too---this was eerily familiar and I really enjoyed it (as usual). So sorry I haven't been around much. Just drowning in holidays, post-surgery blues, etc...

I have huge self-esteem issues, as you know. This was so intriguing!

I related to this one thanks

I am amazed at what many people including you, Polly, seems to be doing with this prompt. I found this very difficult and almost gave up.

I took away my first attempt at this, in case you tried to visit my post and found that it was not accessable. But it's working now. I have finally finished writing a Centus for week 30.
Best wishes,
Anna

I keep a lot of things hidden in my drawers. Metaphorically speaking that is. Society can be so judgemental. ~Ames

Alas, there is no escape without self-acceptance! Sad story and a wonderful use of the prompt.

Wow! This was amazing. I love the truth in your words...and the yearning...and the poignancy.

You can really write, girl!

You always impress the heck out of me.

Too bad you can't impress the fat out of me! Then I would be a skinny minny!

Sigh.

Sorry.

Didn't mean to make this comment about me!

I meant to make it all in the glory of your talent but I got distracted by my jeans cutting into my stomach.

Sigh.

Thanks for linking.
