Sequestered; hidden
within the catacombs of
subconscious thoughts, dreams.
Secret images
of a long forgotten past
waiting for escape
when the veil's removed.
Open, exposed by day's light,
demons forced to flee.
Reacting to pain
is best buffered by one's faith.
"Please, Lord...give me strength!"

Blech. I have insomnia. I would settle for bad dreams right now!
I am sorry you're having a rough time these days, Polly. That's no fun! But I did enjoy your haiku.
Have a great Wednesday!
Michelle
we really need to get you something to harness these dreams...and get you some sleep...keep praying...
Very powerful! You are so good at these!! I'm sure you've seen the joke haiku out there:
Haikus are easy
But sometimes they don't make sense
Refrigerator.
Yours always make sense and actually have a powerful message. Very talented haiku sister, you are!
Dear Polly:
As you start another month, I wish you the best and pray that god's hand touch your body, mind and soul and give you sound sleep and unlimited joy.
Peace and happiness always,
Susan
Im reminded of an old hym that I have had to rely on allot the last couple yrs...called faith in God will move a mighty mountain. Stay strong friend, hugs
I think I still prefer the old adage: "Lord, beer me strength."
This is quite beautiful, I love the very last line, it it gives the reader a connection with the humane behind the writing.
Oh, sweetie.
You say so much in just a few words. Polly! Polly! Bring back my whimsical light-hearted Polly.
Prayers, hugs, and love,
Weezer
Very dramatic and poignant if you ask me. Enduring this must be difficult but I know things will get better. I just believe. :) Well done my friend. Have a wonderful Wednesday. Rabbit, rabbit :)
You've expressed the struggles many of us share so eloquently through this. It's in pieces like this one that your immense talent is front and center. Awesome!
I love your style. Very conversational, yet conforming to the form. And rich thoughts. Given what you have written in "About me" you might enjoy my other blog: www.revbillcook.wordpress.com. If you are so inclined, I'd love to have you check it out. In the meantime, I am subscribing to your blog. - Bill
Very still, very reflective.
I like it.
Pearl
I hope your restlessness ends soon!
I hope you are feeling better than how the nice haiku set describes. If not, then the last verse will 'cover all.'
If you are like me, what I write isn't necessarily how I am feeling but rather what my muse would have me write for the moment. :)
..
like you, i hold on to my faith whenever i hit rough waters. rest assured though that each trial will leave you stronger than ever. well done on your haiku, polly! {{{hugsss}}}
