Forever Blue
Forever blue, a state of mind
In memories of the past
Where hope, a hard won battle,
Fought in indigo shadows they had cast.
Forever blue, a cobalt sea
Where storms have come and gone.
Sifting through debris they left
Casting aside demons still hanging on.
Forever blue, the clarity
Of a cerulean summer sky
Where the One who quelled the storms
Freely gives Grace upon which to rely.

Lovely, but it bothers me that you named the blues in the first two stanzas, but left out "cerulean" in the last.
Julie! Thank you! For the life of me I couldn't name that color. I shall make the necessary correction. I am now in your debt.
Corrections or not it sounded good to me!
grace makes the blues a little more palatable...
It's perfect to me, too! My favorite is the second verses..
My word. Such breath-taking stuff to be found through this alphabe-Thursday carry-on. I'm amazed!
PJ, you've done yourself proud once more. Your imagery is fantastic. And you built up to a crescendo with your last stanza.

Dynamite writing. I agree with Brian.
Lovely, it made me smile while drinking my coffee out of a cobalt blue mug!

I enjoy the blues only when it comes to music! Life, NO.
I wish you a blues-free life!

How nice of you to stop by my blog and your kind words.. sorry your husband went through a heart scare but take it from someone who has it.. get another opinion.. that was an odd thing to say, "if he was older".. I was early 50's also and my brother was only 42...I went to three before I got a good answer..
I know how we get into denial with our health... please have him go to a good cardio doc...

Very meaningful! I can connect with it. Please visit my blog and click on my little picture on the left. It will take you to Jessica Lipman's blog. She is publishing a series of posts that I wrote about my life - The Road Home. You might find them interesting.
Most excellent poem!
Polly, I left you a message on my blog.
lovely pieces of blue...nice blended into this poem...bkm
Beautiful. I like the progression of the feeling the color has associated with it.
great poem, it's not as blue as it seem to be, I find it strangely a bit uplifting, that perhaps we can escape this state if we choose to
What a beautiful poem. Each carefully crafted word seem to offer a mix of emotions.
I read this through several times and was totally charmed at each reading.
Thanks for sharing your vision and your talent, 5th Sister.
