I am glad the project has started - it looks great so far! And hey, cute bird! What is this particular bird called in English? Is it some kind of owl?
He appears to be a red tailed hawk. We have many raptors/birds of prey in our area. He's a regular who likes to sit on our fence post from time to time. You don't want to be leaving your small puppies or kitties out without supervision! I guess he came by to look for grubs and found me instead! LOL! (Although I am pretty "grubby" looking in the early a.m.!)
Oh, I am glad you have a regular "friend", but the thought of it hunting kinda made me shiver.
Your porch looks great! I love the ceiling fans. We have a big covered back porch, too, and I miss it during the winter.
