Flash Friday 55: Recent Conversations With my Son

Hey Mom!
Hey Munch.
I got famous.
How so?
I walked into Science and 2 girls said “Hi Paul”.
*Smiles*

Hey Mom!
Hey Munch.
When can I start dating?
*Sigh*

Hey Mom!
Hey Munch.
I know you’re not suppose to “do it” until you’re married.
That is correct.
Well, what if you’re engaged?
*Heavier sigh*

ack! Noooooo! Not puberty!! :)
My son kept telling us his new friend this year at school was a boy named Emily. Then when we were walking him home, he said that was the boy across the street. It was the cutest little girl, in a dress, but she had a short boy-style haircut! I guess we're safe for a while, but we warned him, if he wants to be friends with Emily, he better stop calling her a boy!

Oh MY! I get along with teenagers better than with little children, but I'm not sure I shall handle with grace my own children being teenagers!

You still OK when he's talking to you about it. When he stops, THEN you worry.

I feel your pain, Polly! My boy's 14... he's already broken up AND gotten back together with his girlfriend of three months!

Hilarious 55!

Oh yes...ain't it fun? I'm so glad my kids will ask me anything. ANYTHING. Gulp. So far we've been ok. Nice that you could capture this in a 55.

The god who enabled you to bring out your precious son, will lead you with every stage of his.

Be of good cheer!

Joy always,
Susan

lol! This was great. It's amazing the things that run through their minds. Priceless! (and makes me thankful I somehow survived the puberty of my three)

Oh boy! Sounds like you've got your hands full!

My daughter hasn't quite reached the stage where she notices boys. The other day, she saw that commercial for the shoes that tone your hamstrings and your butt and she asked me why anyone would want to look at anyone else's butt.

Your 55 brought back memories. Children sure can wear you out with their questions. Scary.

I love that your boy talks so open to you. My kids are still 9 and 6. I hope they will be as open as this, when they get at this stage. Unless, I can skip on the stage ;)

Oh boy, Polly! As parents, we know this sort of day is coming, but are we every really ready? How wonderful though, that your son feels comfortable enough to share with you his excitement over getting attention from girls (rather than being too embarrassed), and secure enough in your relationship to ask such important questions.
