Silly Haiku Wednesday: The Road

Pavement and white lines,
Through mountains; into prairies.
The road to Kansas

Leaving the heartland
With overwhelming sadness.
My road towards home.

The road less traveled;
Upon the wings of angels.
May God bless your soul.

This Haiku is dedicated to the memory of my brother-in-law, Larry Magill.

Join the fun!

The basics:

Haiku is simple!
It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively
(a great way to use your fingers!)

May He Rest in Peace

Laurus William Magill, Junior
November 30, 1948 - January 6, 2010

Beloved husband to my sister Carrie for nearly 41 years.
Devoted father to Daniel and Mark.
An avid outdoorsmen who loved to hunt and fish.
A man who truly lived life to the fullest.

Larry, you will be greatly missed.

God our Father
Your power brings us to birth.
Your providence guides our lives
and by Your command we return to dust.

Lord, those who die still live in Your presence,
their lives change but do not end.
I pray in hope for my family,
relatives and friends,
and for all the dead known to You alone.

In company with Christ,
Who died and now lives,
may they rejoice in Your kingdom,
where all our tears are wiped away.
Unite us together agin in one family,
to sing Your praise forever and ever.

Amen
