Flash Friday 55: 1st Day of School

“Hey Munch, time to get up!”
Mumble, mumble, yawn.
“Remember? It’s your 1st day of school!”
“Hey Mom, do you have to go into work?”
“Yes sweetie, I do. It’s all planned out: Daddy will take you to school and Brandon’s mom will pick you up. I bet there’ll even be treats involved!”
“Oh, Okay!”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That Munchie-Boy! Treats always make things better! Anyway, I am participating in Flash Friday 55, a meme hosted by our very own Mr. Know it All (aka G-Man). The purpose to to write a story or prose in exactly 55 words, no more, no less. Care to join the fun? Just link up in G-Man's comment section
"Three Words, Mommy..."
...confusing, lonely and chaotic."
That is what came out of my darling daughter's mouth when I queried her about her 1st day at school.
Oh, the angst of a 14 year old!
A couple of positive notes: First, I ran into my Mary Kay consultant and was thrilled to see she was there with her 9th grade daughter. We had a "meet and greet" with the kids, after school (I had to purchase some product anyway), and the girls got along very well. We are now carpooling!!!! Secondly, Bethany really liked her World History teacher. He reminded her of Mr. Sister with all his lame jokes and such. She also got very excited to hear that he will be coaching the girl's basketball team. We didn't know there was a girl's basketball team. Bethany so wants to play basketball so this was great news for her to hear.
Today, I am sure, will be a better day!
