Flash Friday 55: The Closet

first sanctuary,
retreat from chaos
raging daily…
hiding spot
from harmful ones…
seeking,
yet always found…

eventually filled
with meaningless possessions,
meaningful to her…
until day she returned
finding her treasures,
trinkets,
thrown away, cast aside…

harboring secrets,
concealing cache…
magic crimson elixir
no longer enchanting,
replaced by memories..
flashbacks demanding
their stories be heard.

hmm...i can tell by the tags this is deeper but the first thing it made me think of is my mom throwing out all my star wars toys while i was at college...but it also fits well with repressed memories...

Crimson Elixer....
My sanctuary is my bathroom, but I'm sure you meant someplace else!
I really liked your 55 Pollyanna.
When you put your mind to it, You are as good as it gets.
Thank You so much for this powerful piece of work, and have a Kick Ass Week-End

Made me think back on a lot

This makes me feel like someone is prying into something that I feel ashamed of. I feel vaguely humiliated.

Your 55 really speaks to me this morning. Recently i have been thinking about how I've locked my self away (literally) since i was a very young child and how my adulthood isn't really any different. Secrets are very hard to give up when they've been kept so well.

Yes, it's amazing what we shove into our closets--both physical and mental, and it says a lot about us what we keep and what we clean away. A perceptive 55.

This feels as if someone took all the memories of your childhood and handed them over to the garbage man...without permission.

Very interesting!

I remember when I finally came out of the closet -- it was a harsh and strange world.

Nice and cozy within those treasures that over time morph to just objects, their friendship souls forgotten.

Hope you're having a fun summer! Love that picture of you in your hat.
