Was Santa Good to You?

Santa was very, very good to me! Mr. Sister sent me on a fun treasure hunt looking for my gift. I was expecting a Snuggie or a Panther jersey. Instead I was truly surprised. I'd like to introduce you to the newest member of our family:

I've named her "Black Beauty". I finally had the opportunity to put her to work last night. She made Greek style turkey meatloaf and it was so quick, easy and painless (normally my Raynaud's acts up big time when I mix meatloaf by hand so this was a much appreciated benefit).

If you all have KitchenAid tips, hints and/or recipes please send them my way. I have a feeling Black Beauty and I will become fast friends!

My 2nd most favorite gift was the chocolate brown Snuggie that my daughter gave me.

It's so soft and comfortable. It definitely keeps you warm! I'm glad I had the foresight to bring it to Kansas with me. I don't think I could have handled the temperatures without it (my sister's house is a bit on the cool side). Also, it came in handy as a lap blanket on the cold drive home last weekend, again, keeping the Raynaud's at bay!

Thank You Bashful Toast!

Bashful awarded me with the following:

Although I received this one before I did not know the "rules" that state to list the 10 things that make you happy. It's hard to narrow down but here is my list in no particular order:

Faith, my family, preparing a meal, artistic endeavors, listening to my daughter sing, watching Munchie play, the Holy Eucharist, my best friend Betty, Daisy, and sleeping in! If I had to list more I would have included chocolate and red wine to the list.

I will pass this on to the following blogs:  From Misery to Happiness in 365 Days, Just Because my Pickle Talks, The Extraordinary Ordinary, Table for Nine, and Running With Letters.

Now it's time to seize the day. Make it a good one!

You must have been very good this year :) I love using my KitchenAid when I make any bread doughs because it kneads it for me :)

Oh, Black Beauty....I am so jealous. I asked Santa for one, but apparently he passed it onto the birthday elf so I might have to wait till June.

Thank you so much for the wonderful award.

I love my mixer...got it in my divorce. Made some awesome cupcakes with it actually. Unfortunately, it rarely sees the light of day though.

I always use my Kitchenaid to make meatloaf. It grosses me out to do it by hand.

So glad you're back! I hope you have an awesome 2010!

I use my hands for meatloaf so I don't overmix it, but I do love my mixer!!

Yes, Kansas temps are plummeting. It's outrageous. More snow coming tonight/tomorrow, and lows will be close to 20 below at the end of the week. I personally have not experienced this level of cold ever. I'm not sure I'm ready!!! Maybe I need a Snuggie like yours!

Oh...that Kitchen Aid makes me drool! Yay for you!

Yeah! You got it! I use my Kitchen Aid a few times a week. The only thing it won't do is bread dough, but that's because I make 6 loaves at a time. Whips up a single or double batch of pizza dough perfectly! AND it is such good quality; I've had mine for 10 years!!

My son picked out a hot pink snuggie for me! LOL! I love my Kitchen Aid mixer.

The chocolate chip cookie recipe in the KA book is one of the best ever.

Make sure you use room temp. butter and they will turn out perfectly!

I'm so glad you've joined the KA Club!! YAY!!!! I used it so much over the holidays- it whips cream in just a couple of minutes, and makes great mashed potatoes, too. Have fun with it, you totally deserve it :)

So that's a Kitchen Aid! It's smaller than a stove! I can see where it would be a phenomenal tool in the kitchen. I think it was pretty dog-gone smart of Santa to follow through with your request! Congratulations.

Oh, I have missed you! I visited everyday I was near my computer anxiously awaiting for you to reappear.

Love the Kitchen Aid. You have to make some bread in it. I love mine! I use it all the time.

The snuggie? My daughter really wanted one too, so she go one from Santa.

Aw, thanks, Polly...I appreciate the recognition--especially since I am at least 2 months behind in awards postings! I think I get bogged down in all the "rules" LOL!

My sister's house is on the chilly side, too, but all I had to keep me warm during my New Year's visit was a short little throw I found over a rocking chair...brrrr...
