Fairy Tale, V.2: d'Verse Poetics Offering

Once upon a yesteryear
I believed in fairy-tales…

Prince Charming came
slaying dragons
wakening, writhing,
dancing in tempo
to rhythmic beat;
a troubled heart
pound, pound, pounding…

truth
drown, drown, drowning
‘neath blood spilt
through pierced flesh;
sword’s tainted tip
eventually exposing
Prince’s flaws...
defeated, he left

once upon a yesteryear
I believed in fairy-tales…

yay! the problem with many a fairy tale they paint the hero as such that we can never reach them...and i imagine they too had their faults but...

its a bit sad to lose the magic of fairy tales though...

great to see you at dverse

ugh...sad when the fairy tale goes bad and things turn out different, hopes smashed, blood spilled...finely penned..

My theory is, it's better to tame a dragon than slay it--then you can ride it, or have it roast your marshmallows-- so I'm glad to see Prince Charming's back. I like this version, it seems a bit tighter.

Thanks for playing fairy tales with us at dVerse.

Ain't it the truth!

Really like how the tempo matched the speed of sword fighting, dragon slaying. My ending's not so happy either.

Wow. I love the rhythm of this Polly. What cool writing. Very skillful.

PS. You have to still believe a little bit!

Princes are entirely overrated. There ought to be a re-call.
