K is for the Kindly Knight

Awaiting the kindly, silver knight
For he, I believe, holds the key
That unlocks that place
Where love is kept
Buried deep inside of me

I will wait for him on yonder knoll
Upon bended knees I shall kneel
Anticipating his kiss,
Untying heart’s knot
As he kindles my desire to heal

Ah, my knight in shining armor
The keepsake he gives to me
Is the knowledge I now have,
This kernel of truth:
That I, all along, held the key

makes me think of medieval times when the maiden isn't quite joan of arc but they wait for true love nonetheless

How wonderful it is that he reminds you that you carried the answer already!

Beautiful written. Love and all that comes before are all inside jobs.

Oh, that was beautifully written! I just love how she realizes that she held the key all that time. Great poem!

Ahhhhh,... beautiful post again! I was going to say something kewl (ok, that's a bit off) but then I thought, nope, no talent like Polly, so better not make a clown out of myself...

Btw, thanks for your comment on my latest post! :)

Glad you found that key. Glad you're busy using it to unlock it all! This was amazing, as always. I'm out of adjectives to praise you with ;-) I think you should look into publishing an anthology of your poetry. Others could be motivated, comforted, entertained or such. Your work has such variety, along with meaning. Well done, my friend.

What a wonderful poem. Makes ma ashamed that I struggled to come up with a K word when you've so elegantly woven so many into your poem.

Nice! I can't help thinking that he will come sooner now that the seeker realizes she holds the key.

=)

PS. Isn't writing poetry a wonderful tool for life? (Besides being about as satisfying as self-expression gets...) ;-)

Well written! Yes, we all carry keys inside, don't we...yet we expect someone else to come along and unlock it. Each of us has to turn our own keys to open our locks.

Beautifully written. It reminded me a bit of the end of the Wizard of Oz when Dorothy realises that she already had everything she ever wanted right at home.

You are amazing. I say that every week, I know.

But every week I come here knowing it is going to be amazing, and every single week you blow me away anyway.

Your writing is so poignant and strong. You are a master.

Thank you.

A+
