Alphabe-Thursday: N is for Nocturne

Jenny Matlock

The Nocturne plays on...
in Nonsensical dreams.

Dreamy Notes
Nursing Necrotic wounds
that are Now Numb
from Neglect.

Nightmares,
Naked and raw
become Nightly Nemesis.

Neurosis Nurtured,
Nourished by
Narcotic Nectar...
Niggling ever so Near.

And so,
the Nocturne plays on...

I am proud to be the first to comment. You have taken a relatively silly idea (poems about letters) and elevated it to a truly artistic level.

Another good one! Nightmares can definitely become "nightly nemesis". Always look forward to reading your Alphabe-Thursday post!

I'm not always the best at figuring out what people want to say in these poems, and I don't really get it here, but I still like the way it reads! ;)

I cannot possibly say anything better then your first commenter.

Ditto.

Seriously girl.

You are all deep and amazing...and the words neat and nifty are just not any way to describe your talent!

Thank you for sharing your talent and your insight with us each week on Alphabe-Thursday!

Nocturnes are some of my favorite pieces of classical music. Your poem and it's imagery are perfect, I can almost hear a solitary pianist playing through the night. Lovely! Kathy

When this is all over you should put these together somehow and publish them.
